Dometic, Australia’s leading outdoor lifestyle brand, has announced its 2022 Ambassador lineup with Professional Surfer and Olympian Owen Wright, Model and Celebrity Elyse Knowles and friend of the brand Professional Surfer and WSL Commentator Laura Enever. This year, the Dometic Group announced its official partnership with the World Surf League for the
Australian leg of the 2022 Championship Tour and Challenger Series which kicks off on 11th April at
The Ripcurl Pro at Bells Beach.
Brand Ambassador, Owen Wright is gearing up for an exciting WSL Championship Tour and eagerly
waiting to get into the surf at Bells Beach to compete and checking out this year’s Wild Cards.
“I’m so looking forward to being back at Bells. We haven’t been back there since 2019 and I’m looking forward to getting back down there, re-connecting, and getting that vibe back. I’m feeling good, completed a training camp down in Bells, my board is good, coaches are happy and I’m feeling great.
Fingers crossed,” said Wright.
“Mick Fanning’s a good mate of mine and when I found out he was getting a Wild Card, I was like yes – this is going to be so much fun. We don’t get to hang out as much and I’m looking forward to seeing him surf again. Equally with my little brother Mikey Wright entering, he’s going to be a really
dangerous competitor, the same as Mick as well. They’re going to be amazing to see. Mick hasn’t
competed for a while so he’s going to be coming in red hot with my younger brother, when he gets
these wildcards it’s when he does his best,” he said.
Camping and adventure enthusiast Elyse Knowles is thrilled to join the Dometic family as its official
brand ambassador and is pumped to join Owen Wright and Laura Enever.
“I’m so pumped to be partnering with Dometic, it’s such a cool outdoor lifestyle brand. We have
Dometic Outdoor ice boxes and rooftop tents that we love to use on a weekend adventure or when
heading away for a month. It’s also very exciting to partner with Owen and Laura as part of the
Dometic family,” says Knowles.
“We have quite a few adventures coming up this year and a few planned holidays, so we know what’s coming but we love to be spontaneous as well. Having weekend trips that happen with a click of a finger are always the best,” she said.
Equally for Owen Wright, the brand alignment was a natural fit, going camping is now a special past time for Owen his Wife Kita son Vali and daughter Rumi.
“Dometic is awesome. I have a mutual friend at Dometic and that’s how the partnership came about.
It’s been amazing and the product is incredible. I’ve done so many camping trips now with my son and it’s all he talks about, his memories of what he does with Dad.”
Since launching in Australia, more than a decade ago Dometic has continued to grow in popularity as more and more Australian families choose to holiday at home.
Dometic Outdoor Manager Jamie Thomson says the partnership with the WSL this year is something the brand is really looking forward to bringing to life.
“We’re really stoked. The World Surf League has been an iconic company and a really good platform for some of the best surfers in the world. We’re just really excited for Dometic to be a part of that.
We’re looking forward to seeing our boy Owen take it to the guys down at Bells, can’t wait for it to
happen,” said Thomson.
