Poring over dizzying lists of new beauty launches monthly is no easy feat.

But, as always, we only feature the standouts that make a difference to your routine with big impact and a feel-good factor. Add to your cart these tried, tested, and loved products from Gucci Beauty, Dior, diptyque, Drunk Elephant and more.

Gucci Beauty

Not all fashion houses do beauty well but Gucci deserves all the hype. Its new face and eye collection complements existing lipsticks. The powder blurs flaws, with a featherlight texture that feels barely there. It’s available in 12 shades and is formulated for every skin type. Hands down: the Crayon Définition Sourcils eyebrow pencil is one of the best we’ve used. It is as powdery and pigmented as an eyebrow powder; little pressure is needed to apply the pigment onto your brows. It’s also velvety, and blendable — making it a breeze to use for beginners. Lastly, the Éclat De Beauté Effet Lumière is the face and eye gloss you need. Dab a little on your eyes to give your eyeshadow a beautiful sheen or blend on your cheekbones to radiate light.

Diorshow 2020

The Diorshow 2020 collection is inspired by couture. Each ‘It’ shade in the eyeshadow palettes pays tribute to an iconic Dior runway look. The palettes have also been given a makeover, with new cases, new colours, and six new finishes (matte, satin, pearly, metallic, glitter and highlighter). On top of their high staying power, the eyeshadows are also now infused with skincare ingredients of aloe vera and pine oil for softening and smoothening. We particularly love the Denim palette that celebrates Dior jeans and the Mitzah, which pays homage to Mitzah Bricard, Christian Dior’s muse who was famous for her leopard print looks. Accompany it with the Diorshow 24H1 Stylo liner that glides on effortlessly, and lashings of the Iconic Overcurl for longwear and lash care.

YSL Le Cushion Encre De Peau

Launched in 2016, the latest reiteration of the bestselling cushion compact still sports the same colourway of black and gold but with a new twist. It is now coated in a chevron quilt, with the YSL Cassandre Logo embellished in the center. As for the formula, it’s gotten an upgrade that still delivers its much-loved matte yet luminous finish. The inclusion of jasmine petals offers antioxidant protection to keep skin radiant. Its new Neo Skin Powder active, sourced from natural ingredients from YSL Beauté’s Ourika Garden, absorbs excess sebum. While this offers medium coverage, it’s also great for quick touchups.

Available at all YSL Beauté stores at ION Orchard, VivoCity, Raffles City Shopping Centre, Metro Paragon, TANGS at TANG Plaza, BHG Bugis, and Takashimaya S.C., online at Tangs.com

Drunk Elephant E-Rase Milki Micellar Water

Like a magnet for grime and makeup sitting on your pores, micellar water is the go-to makeup remover for many as it’s not as greasy as oil cleansers and neither is it as ecologically wasteful as makeup wipes. Traditionally clear with a texture as light as water, Drunk Elephant‘s version turns expectations on its head with a milky formula. Ultra-mild micelles (tiny balls of oil molecules) effectively removes dirt from your skin while the rest of the blend nourishes skin. Think rich antioxidants, soothing vitamin E, and non-fragrant plant oils (marula, baobab, mongongo, wild melon seed, ximenia seed, passionfruit, and sweet almond) to hydrate skin. We’ve used this for weeks now, and can affirm this does a great job of gently and effectively removing makeup. While this is a no-rinse formula, remember to follow up with a double cleanse after to thoroughly clean skin.

Charlotte Tillbury Airbrush Summer collection

Anyone who has seen Charlotte Tilbury‘s signature looks knows the icon, as well as her brand, is famed for her glamorous makeup looks. Now, she’s channelled them into a summer-inspired three-part collection based on her existing Airbrush line. The refillable bronzer doesn’t just add depth, dimension, and chiselled contours. It contains hyaluronic acid to smooth and hydrate, soft-focusing silica to reflect light on skin, and micro-fine perfecting powders that envelope skin in a thin, silky finish. Brush it on with the retractable kabuki air-brush and complete the bronzed goddess look with the luxury palette of mattes in Desert Haze.

Frédéric Malle Carnal Flower

When we met Margaret Magnuson, Frédéric Malle’s Global Brand Expert, last year, she told us about the Carnal Flower scent. Describe as a ‘true job of a great perfumer’, it’s regarded as a power perfume in Hollywood and the entertainment industry, as well as in tech and Silicon Valley. It’s concocted by Dominique Ropion, whose creations are lauded as architectural feats. This is no different. Carnal Flower has a distinct flower shop freshness, with the dark sensuality of tuberose hidden by citrus leaves and the lighter floral notes of ylang ylang and jasmine enhanced by white musk.

diptyque Velvet Hand Lotion

Everyone loves a diptyque candle, and even more so when that scent lingers on your skin. The Velvet Hand Lotion envelopes your hands in a beautiful fragrance of sweet almond, crisp petitgrain, and warm Virginia cedar, while nourishing them. The airy-light formula that absorbs quickly is infused with regenerating Immortelle floral water that helps to repair the skin on hands; Roman chamomile floral water soothes skin while sesame oil moisturises and keeps hands supple. Refills are also available.

Kilian Paris Good girl gone bad

It might sound like a Rihanna song but “Good Girl Gone Bad” is inspired by Hollywood icon Mae West’s saying of “when I’m good, I’m very good, but when I’m bad, I’m better”.  The scent in itself is a half and half, combining innocence with a sexy voluptuousness. It is a celebration of petals, both feminine and uninhibited, with tuberose absolute, jasmine and narcissus melding with apricot-fused osmanthus absolute, orange blossom, and rose of May. The result? A seductive scent worthy of sirens.
