Witness the dynamic and colorful beauty of Thailand through the lens of Reetwika. Along with her husband, she witnessed a kaleidoscope of colors, landscapes, and man-made marvels on a memorable 4 nights/5 days romantic trip to Thailand.
Thailand has been a destination that long fascinated me. It was the right time to strike this tropical paradise off my bucket-list. My husband and I wanted to go on a vacation and a romantic trip to Thailand, at that time, seemed like a really good option to get a well-deserved break.

While I was searching for a romantic trip to Thailand, I referred to the various social media platforms I follow for a good travel portal. When I came across TravelTriangle, I was pleased to see the competitive prices of their customizable packages. I booked a package from Zulu Holidays and finalized my trip details quickly.
Day 1: The glitz and glamour of Alcazar
We boarded our flight from Kolkata and reached the Bangkok airport at 4 am. The welcome was a bit slow and tiring as we had to wait for 4 hours to get our visa stamped. However, once we got our visa stamped and moved to the cab driver who was patiently waiting to take us to Pattaya, we were very happy. The car was comfortable and we completed the journey at a brisk pace.
We reached Golden Beach Hotel, Pattaya by 9 am and checked into our rooms. It took us a while to explain to them that we were doing a late check-in (since the room was booked for the night before).
The hotel was located in the heart of Pattaya- walking distance from the beach, local market, Central Mall and Hilton Hotel. The room given to us was large, clean, and provide a great view from the hotel balcony. For the buffet, they gave us two options- Indian and International breakfast. We opted for the latter as we liked the menu more on the international side compared to the Indian ones.
In the afternoon, we had tickets booked for the Alcazar cabaret show. We were asked to leave the room keys at the hotel while going out as they strictly do not allow keys to be carried outside.
Later in the evening, we took a walk to the Pattaya market and had dinner at a local restaurant. There were lots of Indian restaurants available, however, we preferred to eat Thai cuisine and enjoyed Chicken Satay dish for starters. After that, we returned to our hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Aqua-blue at Coral Island
We had a half-day tour with lunch to Coral Island by speedboat. The cab picked us up from the hotel after breakfast and dropped us at the Pattaya beach. As the sea was very rough, the speedboat bumped into waters like a roller-coaster ride. We enjoyed the speedboat trip a lot.
They halted for 45 minutes for paid sea activities at an intermediate station. We did not try out any of them though but watched others enjoying the activities. The cost was too expensive compared to the allotted time.
Memorable Moments From Our Family Trip To Thailand
Post that, we were taken to the Coral island. The speedboat drive was very pleasurable and thrilling as before. The sea waves were very high and so the ride felt more adventurous. It was a bright sunny day with very high temperature. We did not opt for swimming as allotted time was too less to enjoy a bath. There was only a 40-minute break at the island along with a walking restriction beyond the designated sea shoreline.
The lunch was provided to us after we were back to Pattaya. It was a poor quality Indian buffet where we didn’t eat much.
In the evening, we went to Underwater World. It was our first experience seeing an underwater aquarium, so we enjoyed a lot. The Shark and Stingray feeding sites were like a lifetime experience. Afterwards, we returned to the hotel in Pattaya to relax for the night.
Day 3: Drive back to Bangkok
On the next morning of our romantic trip to Bangkok, we checked out from the hotel in Pattaya by 10 am. The road from Pattaya to Bangkok was a well-maintained highway, so the journey was smooth.
After arriving in Bangkok, we first went for a sightseeing tour of the city. We began with a visit to the Golden Buddha temple, Marble Buddha temple and Gems Gallery. The temples were awesome and a must visit place in Thailand. The gold artwork at the temples is worth mentioning. By the time we checked into the Grand Alpine Hotel, it was already evening. The traffic condition was really bad in Bangkok and it took us hours to reach a stone’s throw distance during peak hours.
Thailand Was An Ideal Romantic Destination For This Couple
The hotel was located little inside a narrow lane making parking a big challenge. The hotel room was big, but it had no windows. We just had 15 minutes in-hand to freshen up as we had to move for Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise next. I must say that the pickup times were maintained very punctually by the cab drivers throughout our romantic trip to Thailand.
The cab driver dropped us at River City Mall from where the cruise was scheduled to start. It rained that evening which created little mess for the onboarding formalities. But overall, the cruise was a fantastic experience. Our ticket was booked on the non-AC upper deck with Indian Buffet.
The journey time was around 2 hours along the Chao Phraya river during which we experienced the nightlife of Bangkok and some of the architectural wonders like Wat Arun, Royal Palace etc along the river shore. After deboarding, we reached back to the hotel by 11.30pm sans the traffic jam.
Day 4: The wonders of Safari World
The last day of our romantic trip to Thailand had arrived. We began the day with breakfast and quickly got ready for a day tour of Safari World. We didn’t really like the shows too much except the Orangutan show.
After that, we moved on to the interesting part ie- the jungle safari (which only lasted 30 minutes). There were lots of animals in the safari like zebra, giraffe, deer, tigers, lions, bears, birds etc. We would have preferred a few more hours witnessing such beautiful creatures instead of watching animal shows.
We came back to the hotel around 7 pm and in a few hours, we checked out from the hotel as our return flight was scheduled for 4 am from the Bangkok airport.
Witnessing The Best Of Thailand On A 7N8D Honeymoon Trip
From the first underwater experience in Pattaya, the pristine beaches of Coral Island, glamorous Alcazar to the adventurous Safari World, Thailand was one experience my husband and I will never forget.
We loved the overall experience with TravelTriangle and Zulu Holidays, especially the internal coordination for our romantic trip to Thailand. We were not carrying mobiles and hence connectivity could have been a challenge. But we never got a feel that unavailability of phone/Whatsapp could be an issue in the entire trip. It was well managed by all of them.
High points:
- The tour cost provided by Zulu Holidays was very cost effective compared to other quotes received.
- Our first underwater experience at Pattaya was incredible.
- Bangkok offers an awesome dinner cruise on Chao Phraya River- you have options for Indian and International Buffet. A must not miss for all.
Low points:
- Our safari jeep did not stop for photos during the wildlife safari whereas the other did. We are photo freaks and so no stopping meant it was a waste of time and money for us.
- The breakfast menu wasn’t good at the hotels given to us.
- Bangkok traffic jam is extremely mismanaged. It is highly frustrating as a traveler as it took us 4 hours to reach 3km during evening hours after a slight spell of rain.
