Tottenham vs Newcastle LIVE: Premier League latest score and updates as Son and Doherty put Spurs in charge

70’ – Tottenham 4-1 Newcastle

Willock heads over the bar after a cross from the right, following Hojbjerg crumpling to ground after a slight touch on his chin.

At the other end Kane curls one toward goal, but it hits Emerson and flies wide.

NEW sub: Wood replaced by Lascelles.

66’ – Tottenham 4-1 Newcastle

Massive chance for another! Kane’s switch of play finds Son in an absolute acre of space, but he drags the ball wide of the far post on his left foot. Hojbjerg was waiting for a square ball too. Not the best finish from the South Korean in truth.

Newcastle have to sort themselves out at the back or it may get even more embarrassing.

63’ – GOAL! Tottenham 4-1 Newcastle

And that’s game over! The two wing-backs combine as Doherty twists back onto his right foot, clips over the ball and Emerson Royal, of all people, gets a toe to the ball to prod in off the post.

Not great work from Targett in the middle but Newcastle have lost all structure since Spurs’ equaliser really, a lack of positional and mental discipline on show.

62’ – Tottenham 3-1 Newcastle

Sweeping move from Newcastle as they move down the right flank, but Guimaraes’ ball is cut out with two waiting in the middle. If the visitors get the next goal it’ll be an interesting final 20 minutes or so, but Spurs still look dangerous with Kane and Kulusevski on the ball.

58’ – Tottenham 3-1 Newcastle

Saint-Maximin takes on two and looks to set the Magpies back on the front foot, but his reverse pass to Willock can’t find his teammate. It’s all breaking down for them now. Son frees Kane this time in the left channel at the opposite end of the pitch, but Schar slides in with a good block.

Howe reacts and looks to his bench.

NEW subs: Joelinton replaced by Jacob Murphy; Bruno Guimaraes on for Javi Manquillo

53’ – GOAL! Tottenham 3-1 Newcastle

Straight down the other end and straight into the net! Brilliant from Kulusevski once more, he races away after Kane frees him down the right, he beats Burn and crosses low to Son – who just has to control and finish, which he does.

Lightning break and that’s daylight for Spurs now, with the top four beckoning.

52’ – Tottenham 2-1 Newcastle

What on earth is Lloris doing there?! A long pass sees Joelinton run in behind the defence, the Spurs keeper comes running out to the edge of his box and gets absolutely nowhere near it – he’s fortunate the flag is up for offside.

Lloris less than impressive again today.

GOAL! 48’ – Tottenham 2-1 Newcastle

Out of nothing! Matt Doherty steals in behind the defence at the far post and he has a simple task to nod in Kane’s cross from the right channel, after three defenders just watched the ball go.

No chance again for Dubravka but Newcastle will be disappointed to not have dealt better with the delivery.

SECOND HALF – Tottenham 1-1 Newcastle

Back underway in north London. Dan Burn is straight into the book for a slide tackle on Harry Kane and he’s fuming at the forward, suggesting he dived.

Replays suggest he probably doesn’t have too much of a case after throwing himself in.

Spurs’ delivery is dangerous, but the Magpies stand firm.

HALF TIME – Tottenham 1-1 Newcastle

Joelinton was also booked in that clash before the break, then Hojbjerg and Son want another yellow for a Newcastle player after an aerial collision.

All very silly and the break comes at a good time – we’re all square.
