Your Skin needs Yoghurt

Millions of beneficial bacteria that boost the immune system make yoghurt one of the healthiest foods available. But did you know it is also excellent for healthy skin?

Many people spend lots of money on costly treatments for the skin to get rid of sunspots, acne, fine lines and wrinkles. Yoghurt is a less expensive natural option that can be used to keep the skin looking young and healthy.

The lactic acid in yoghurt soothes, softens and tightens the skin and refines the pores. Its high nutrient content and natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties also get rid of germs and other bacteria.

For
a good mask, apply a paste of yoghurt and lentils and leave on
the skin until it’s dry. Remove the hardened paste with your
fingers, and then wash off with water.

For
a thorough cleansing that will also moisturise the skin and
leave it soft and smooth, combine one cup of yoghurt (plain) with 2 ½
tablespoons of honey. Rub it into your face, neck and décolletage.
Wash off well with warm water after about five minutes.

Yoghurt
mixed with orange peels is an effective natural exfoliant.
Save the orange peels and put them on the windowsill in the sun to
dry. Grind them into a powder and mix with yoghurt. Leave it on for
about 15 minutes, then rinse off with water.

Olive oil, turmeric and sandalwood are also great as a dry skin treatment. Mix them with yoghurt and honey, let them soak in for 5 to 15 minutes, then wash off with water. To use it topically as a dry skin treatment, you can just slather it on your face every morning, then wash it off with cold water, or you can mix it with other things that will make it even more effective.

The
natural probiotic properties of yoghurt work on the cells of the skin
to rejuvenate and peel away years of sun damage and other damage to
the skin. Yoghurt is less expensive and more biologically friendly
than other forms of skin rejuvenation.

Skin
Health

Eating
one cup of yoghurt each day will provide the skin with essential
proteins and nourishing oils to prevent damage from the sun, damage
from acne and damage from rashes and other skin blemishes.

Bath

Add one cup of plain yoghurt to warm bathwater. Soak in the yoghurt bath while you cleanse your body. Yoghurt opens the pores, which lessens the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne and sun damage.

Sunburn

After
a day of sunning at the beach, sunburn is almost inevitable. Rub some
plain yoghurt on sunburn and massage it into the skin. Within a few
days, your sunburn will give way to a gorgeous bronzed tan.

Acne

Unlike
harsh chemical cleansers and prescription medications for acne,
yoghurt has very few side effects and leaves the skin feeling much
smoother and more appealing to the eye after a breakout of acne. Use
a dab of yoghurt on a pimple, or a small amount of yoghurt on patchy
acne breakouts to clear the breakout within a few days.

Elasticity

Yoghurt
truly can help you defy age. Yoghurt penetrates the skin to add
elasticity to the cells of the skin. Rub yoghurt all over the body
for vital, healthy-looking skin.
