MALAYSIA strongly condemns the actions of the Israeli regime that invaded the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the area around the mosque on Tuesday.
The planned invasion led by Israel’s Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir and the Israeli army is a provocation and clearly violates the status quo of Jerusalem and Al-Haram Al-Sharif, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) today.
Malaysia called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for the illegal act and demanded that the regime immediately stop any provocation in the interest of peace and stability.
“Malaysia stands firm and in solidarity with the Palestinian people and reiterates the status of Al-Quds Al-Sharif as a holy site for Muslims.
“Malaysia also confirms its unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their efforts to gain freedom and realize their aspirations for an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital,” according to the statement.
On Tuesday, Itamar Ben-Gvir visited the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex, a day after he announced to postpone the visit.
Palestine and several Arab countries described the visit as an “unprecedented provocation” and a “declaration of war”, Anadolu Agency reported.
