The missing 8-month-old baby boy may have been eaten by fish or other animals in the canal and police will decide today (Thursday) whether to end the search, as the boy went missing from home in Bang Len district of Nakhon Pathom on February 5th.
Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, the national deputy police chief, said today that Bang Luang police have been instructed to question the mother of the missing baby, 17-year-old Nim, further on certain issues which remain unclear, before wrapping up the case.
He said that police have also consulted provincial public prosecutors about how to handle the case and the indictment of Nim, adding that police handling the case believe that the teenage mother lied to them about the fate of the baby, while her partner had told the truth.
Surachate explained that police will not press human trafficking charge against Nim’s partner, for allegedly luring her into having sex with his friend to raise money to feed the money, because the amount of money was small and was intended to support the family.
