KUALA TERENGGANU, 14 January – The Terengganu state government through its subsidiary and state government members donated RM137,000 to PASRelief to fully finance the cost of completing the third level of the Islamic Center in Arsal, Lebanon.

The donation was presented by Terengganu Incorporated Sdn.Bhd (RM40,000), Corporate Advisor Menteri Besar Terengganu Inc (RM20,000), Chairman of the State Youth, NGO and Sports Development Committee, Wan Sukairi Wan Abdullah (RM 20,000), Eastern Pacific Industrial Corporation Berhad (RM10,000).

In addition, the Medic Iman Health Care Sdn.Bhd Group (RM10,000), Wakil Ladang Rakyat Terengganu Sdn.Bhd (RM7,000), Permint Granite Sdn.Bhd (PGSB), Terengganu Water Company (RM5,000), Technology Utility Corridor Terengganu Sdn.Bhd (RM5,000), GPQ Sdn.Bhd (RM5,000), Terengganu Telecommunications Sdn.Bhd (RM5,000)

While Pengkalan Bekalan Kemaman Sdn.Bhd (RM5,000) and Darul Iman Terengganu Social Welfare Organization (RM20,000)

The chairman of PASRelief, Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said, the Islamic Center will be set up with sewing classes, computer labs, training classes, offices and kitchens which are fully sponsored by him and Aid4Lebanon.

“In addition to the equipment on the third level, PASRelief also sponsored a solar system to generate electricity for full use at the Islamic Centre, the total cost of this project is RM585,000.

“The Islamic center in Arsal has three floors, the first floor is used as a Majis Jamek, the second floor is used as a markaz al-Quran which is fully sponsored by an NGO from Turkey,” he said.

He, who is also the Chief Minister of Kedah, said this while speaking at the Launching Ceremony and Handover of the Donation Check for the Opening of the Arsal Islamic Centre, at the Primula Beach Hotel, here, yesterday.

Also present was the Menteri Besar of Kelantan, Datuk Ahmad Yakob who also handed over a donation of RM10,000.

Commenting further, Sanusi said, PAS Relief has led the Aid4Lebanon Secretariat to show support and solidarity for the victims of the Ammonium Nitrate explosion in Beirut which claimed more than 135 lives, injured more than 5,000 victims, and left hundreds of thousands homeless on August 4, 2020.

According to him, the PASReleif delegation will go to Lebanon on January 16 and also expects contributions from all parties to ensure that more refugee victims can be helped.

“It will not be complete if this mission to Lebanon does not unite the Palestinian refugee camps to help the people,” he said who also contributed RM20,000 in the event.

In the event, apart from Terengganu, Kelantan and several other organizations also donated RM58,000 to make the mission a success this time.
