To celebrate the Fiorucci spring/summer 2023 collection, the Italian brand’s creative director Daniel W. Fletcher hosted an intimate dinner at Ardor Terrace at Edition in West Hollywood on Thursday night with guests including musicians Troye Sivan and Leland, models Ari Fournier and Kelsey Merritt, and actress Georgie Flores.

Fiorucci’s new collection plays with bold graphics and prints inspired by the brand’s archives dating back to 1967, with scribbled logos, the heritage monogram and playful zebra prints on dresses, shirts and casual jersey styles. The new liquid chrome graphics take the iconic Fiorucci Angels into a new era, dripping on faded sweatshirts and silky shirts perfect for this summer’s California desert.

The collection was photographed in the Hollywood Hills by Paris Mumpower in her big shot style and styled by Tabitha Sanchez.

“I start each season by looking through the Fiorucci archives and one of the things I discovered this season was a stack of photos from an event held in the Beverly Hills store in the 1970s for the launch of Blondie’s Parallel Lines album,” said Fletcher.

“LA is an important part of Fiorucci’s history and I love hearing stories about the store occupying the Beverly Theatre with the pumping of music and Andy Warhol and Joan Jett hanging out in the store; it seems like a crazy time, so I always like to bring the brand back here and celebrate where we are today with the new generation of creatives that are now part of the Fiorucci family.”

The Italian brand, founded in 1967 by Elio Fiorucci, was a hit in the early 1970s when he opened his flagship store in New York City, where the entire art scene including Keith Haring, Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, gathered.

Over the past few decades, Fiorucci has become best known for his classic Angels, which transform into organic cotton T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and joggers, as well as his vinyl pants, graphic tees from his electrifying visual archive and a full line of high-end denim for men and women.

A documentary on the designer’s story was screened last year in Milan during the Fashion Film Festival Milano.
