MAYS LANDING – A Camden man has received a 54-year prison term for raping a housekeeper in an Atlantic City hotel in July 2020.
Kye Hardison, 35, was accused of assaulting the 61-year-old victim after pushing her into a room on the 12th floor of the Claridge Hotel, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
He fled onto the Boardwalk, but was followed by a Claridge employee and was taken into custody a short time later.
Hardison was convicted of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and burglary after a six-day trial in September 2022.
The prosecutor’s office said it sought an extended prison term due to Hardison’s “extensive criminal history, and the particularly egregious nature of this sexual assault.”
Hardison must serve more than 45 years before parole eligibility under the sentence imposed Wednesday by Superior Court Judge William Miller in Mays Landing.
Once released from custody, Hardison would be subject to Megan’s Law and parole supervision for life.
