The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) published a report on 24 wargame simulations modeling various scenarios of the Chinese Communist Party’s People’s Liberation Army invading Taiwan.
The Next Committee on the Present Danger: China (CPDC) held a webinar on Jan. 12 and examined the scenarios, results, conclusions, and specific “strengthen deterrence” strategies.
The panelists include one of the CSIS report’s authors and four national security experts with extensive experience in the Pacific theater: former Chief of the Force Structure and Investment Division, Col. Mark Cancian; former Chief of Intelligence, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Capt. James Fanell; Senior Fellow, Center for Security Policy, Col. Grant Newsham; former senior official, Office of the Secretary of Defense and National Security Council, Col. John Mills; and Senior Fellow, Center for Security Policy, Dr. Bradley Thayer.
The founder and Executive Chairman of the Center for Security Policy; Vice Chairman of the Committee on the Present Danger: China, Frank Gaffney, moderated the webinar.
