A luxury hotel that will become a new landmark in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has revealed itself.

Ssangyong E&C announced on Jan. 26 that the Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences, which is to open early next month, held a pre-opening event for VIPs for three days from Jan. 20.

The event attracted a lot of attention as world-renowned singer Beyoncé performed. In addition, fireworks and a DJ concert continued to boom up the atmosphere of the opening ceremony.

The pre-opening event allowed guests to experience the hotel and its diverse facilities, including a swimming pool, the Aqua Venture water park and top-notch restaurants.

Meanwhile, the Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences project involved the construction of three 44-story super-luxury hotels with 795 rooms and three luxurious 39-story residence buildings with 231 apartments on Palm Jumeirah. The hotel boasts ultra-luxurious facilities, including 109 swimming pools and an aquarium.

In December 2015, the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) awarded the project to Ssangyong E&C. At the time, the ICD was the largest shareholder of the construction company. Currently, it is the second-largest shareholder. Ssangyong E&C jointly won the project, worth US$1.254 billion (approximately 1.55 trillion won), with Belgium’s Besix.
