Universal health scheme gold health card holders in Bangkok will be eligible for free medical treatment for 42 uncomplicated and common diseases through a new telemedicine service, according to Rachada Dhnadirek, deputy government spokesperson.

The service will be extended to people whose entitlements are valid in other provinces, but who are living in Bangkok. The telemedicine service is designed to provide easy access to health care for the public, she explained.

To use the service, gold card holders are required to install the “Clicknic” application in their smart phones, click on the “patients with common diseases (NHSO)” banner and complete the information requested about their health problems, their weight and height and then click “seeking consultation”.

Doctors will call back within 30 minutes. In case medication needs to be prescribed, it will either be delivered to the home of the patient or can be collected from the nearest participating pharmacy.

More information is available at www.nhso.go.th or hotline 1330.

Among the 42 common and uncomplicated diseases covered by the telemedicine service are colds, food poisoning, pink eye, diarrhoea, gastritis, enteritis, urticarial (hives), muscle inflammation, rashes and COVID-19.
