Grab your closest friends and head out for a Gold Coast weekend getaway full of fun, frivolities and fantastic food.
This itinerary packs a lot in to two days – we advise having a car at the ready, or make sure your Uber app is set to go!
Day One
Morning
First stop: Peppers Soul Surfers Paradise, its multi-room apartments the perfect perch for a group of travelling friends. A ‘secret’ rooftop garden is one of many highlights at this 77-storey apartment hotel in the heart of Surfers Paradise.
It’s a short stroll to Lot 1 Coffee, where they take breakfast seriously. Order tasty bites like peanut butter French toast or an acai bowl loaded with fruity goodness.
Afternoon
Now that you have a pep in your step, make your way to HOTA (Home of the Arts) Gallery for a dose of Queensland culture. This institution is home to more than 4,500 artworks, making it the largest of its kind in Australia outside a capital city. But there’s much more to this creative precinct, including space for workshops and talks, a theatre, a sculpture walk and a number of restaurants and bars.
Then head to The Exhibitionist on the gallery’s rooftop for a flute of champagne and views over this pretty pocket of the city.
