After four long years, the popular outdoor event will finally be open to the public again for one day only.

Philippine Art Events, the same organizers behind the successful Art Fair Philippines 2023, have gathered “a diverse group of galleries, art schools, independent art spaces, and collectives” for Art in the Park’s awaited return.

The event will be happening at the Jaime Velasquez Park in Makati City on March 19, Sunday, from 10 A.M. to 10 P.M.

Admission is completely free of charge, in the hopes of making different forms of art more accessible to the general public.

Since 2006, Art in the Park has raised more than P25 million in support of the Museum Foundation of the Philippines.

This year, 60 exhibitors will be featured at the event with works that range from paintings and photographs to sculptures and new media.

Here’s our lineup for #ArtInTheParkPH 2023: 60 participants from established galleries to fine arts schools, collectives and art groups, will spread out over Jaime Velasquez Park. Leggo! 👋

Trickie C. Lopa, one of the event’s organizers, said that they always try to “bring in something new” through the artists they choose to highlight.

“It’s great because of the nature of Art In The Park where it’s a very inclusive, non-intimidating event. Even the artists feel like it’s an event where we can experiment, we can do something new,” she added.

Featured artists

For Art in the Park’s 17th edition, they have chosen to highlight artists Manny Garibay, Bjorn Calleja, and Kabunyan de Guia.

De Guia’s installation art Kidlat Ngayon!!!! Isang taon na paglalakbay as soul is a tribute to his brother who passed away almost exactly a year ago in Madrid, Spain. The installation doubles as a shrine where visitors can light candles to honor his brother.

The event will also be accompanied by music from Soulful Mood and Pundaquit Virtuosi from Casa San Miguel as well as a flash mob poetry performance by Titik Poetry.
