The couple tied the knot after six eventful years spent learning to understand each other on a deeper level.

This is an excerpt from Lifestyle Asia’s April 2023 Issue.

Mutual friends and a birthday party led Eunice and Jay to each other. According to Jay, his wife is the “self-proclaimed original Chinita princess” while Eunice calls her husband the lawyer who “wishes to become an actor and/or model.”

Though the relationship began with plenty of passion and arguments, the disputes “slowly became less frequent as time passed and as we understood each other better,” the couple tells Lifestyle Asia. Now going on six years together, it was time to seal the deal with a wedding.

IT CANNOT WAIT, I’M YOURS

Jay proposed when the couple was on a vacation in Tagaytay with Eunice’s family. Because they were fond of karaoke, he had planned to pop the question while singing Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” but it wasn’t on the song list. Not to be deterred (and because it was the only song he rehearsed), Jay let it play on Spotify as he pulled out the ring from his pocket and dropped to one knee. The couple cried as Eunice said “yes” while the rest of their loved ones cheered around them.

THIS IS OUR FATE

The wedding took place on November 12, 2022 with the ceremony held in St. John Bosco Parish, Makati and the reception in Shangri-La Fort Manila. Though there were many guests who shared in their special day, the couple was determined to pay for the wedding on their own. “It was a liberating feeling,” they say.
