Police are investigating after two men died Saturday morning in a shooting in New Haven.
The New Haven Police Department said officers found the unidentified male victims in a parked vehicle in the area of Winthrop Avenue and Goffe Terrace.
Police said the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. An ambulance transported the passenger to Yale-New Haven hospital, where police said he was pronounced dead shortly after admission.
The department said officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:55 a.m. Saturday after receiving multiple calls reporting gunshots.
According to police, the ShotSpotter recorded nine rounds of gunfire.
“Detectives from the department’s Major Crimes Unit and Bureau of Identification are at the scene and are searching for evidence, witnesses and video surveillance,” Captain Rose Dell said in a release from the New Haven Police Department.
