Leading software and technology provider, Sabre, has partnered with Brazil’s largest domestic airline, GOL Linhas Aéreas, announcing the successful implementation of Sabre Ancillary IQ, an AI-based assistance to help create personalised offers for travellers. The software has also been designed to implement incremental ancillary revenue opportunities for airline customers.

GOL Linhas Aéreas is headquartered in São Paulo, and commenced operations in 2001. Quickly becoming one of the largest airlines in South America, GOL Linhas Aéreas fly to over 80 destinations in Brazil, South America, the Caribbean, and the United States of America.

Ancillary IQ is a strategy introduced by the airline, with the aim of pricing additional special services for individual passengers and enabling the creation of ancillary bundles. The new programme will be able to identify buying patterns from frequent flyers, and will create a custom set of options best suited to their preferences. The initial implementation of Ancillary IQ with GOL Linhas Aéreas will focus on seats with additional perks, and will be available in late 2023.

Director of channel sales at GOL Linhas Aéreas, Renzo Mello said that the purpose of this programme is to offer passengers the best travel experience on the airline.

“Having Sabre as our key technology partner helps us maintain our commitment to customers while continuing to grow our business, “ said Mello. “By adopting Sabre Ancillary IQ, we will be able to provide passengers with their preferred choices during the booking process across channels so they can create the unique experiences they want.”

Sabre Travel Solutions’ chief product officer, Gary Wiseman said that Sabre has had a long history of creating innovative solutions, especially in the travel and airline industry.

“Given our shared commitment to innovation, it makes sense that GOL would be the first customer to deploy Sabre’s new, intelligent ancillary solution to deliver the outstanding services that travellers have come to expect from the airline,” added Wiseman.

Sabre Ancillary IQ is part of Retail Intelligence, the first series of products which to be powered by Sabre Travel AI technology. Sabre Travel AI is a progression of technology it had initially designed for its partnership with Google, integrating state-of-the-art technology, and advanced learning services.
